John Randolph grew up in a small town in Oklahoma, with ambitions that took him to Dartmouth College and eventually to the institutional trading floors of New York. At Dartmouth, he studied Engineering Sciences and Computer Science while competing in football and track. He began his career in Merrill Lynch’s Mortgage Products Group at 2 World Financial Center.

Over the next three decades, John built his career as a mortgage-backed securities trader and business leader, increasingly focused on distressed and structured products. His experience at firms including GMAC-RFC, Cantor Fitzgerald and Jefferies shaped his perspective on trading, managing risk and building businesses.
In 2015, John and David Weibel founded Stonecrest Partners, creating a flexible financial services firm capable of pursuing complex transactions and business opportunities, on a wealth management platform anchored by a strong clearing relationship with BNY Pershing.

Today, John serves as CEO from Stonecrest’s home office in Austin, Texas. As the firm has grown, he has remained focused on what has been at the heart of Stonecrest from the beginning – to build a business where talented people have the independence to pursue new opportunities, while preserving the close relationships and shared sense of purpose of a familial firm.

Dave Jones began his career in investment management after graduating from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Finance. Starting in trade operations at Citigroup Asset Management, he developed an understanding of the investment process from the operational side before moving into broader trading and portfolio management responsibilities at Legg Mason and Western Asset Management.

At Western Asset, Dave worked alongside senior portfolio managers and traders overseeing billions in fixed-income assets, helping develop and implement investment strategies across separately managed accounts. His experience spanning trading, portfolio implementation and operations gave him a practical perspective on the infrastructure and execution required to support a successful wealth management business.

Dave joined Stonecrest Partners in 2015, bringing that experience to a growing financial services firm. He played a central role in developing the firm’s broker-dealer and advisory operations, establishing processes, supporting advisor transitions and helping build the infrastructure needed to accommodate the firm’s expansion. In 2023, he became a Managing Member of Stonecrest Partners.

Today, Dave serves as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Stonecrest’s wealth management businesses. His approach reflects a career spent connecting investment strategy with execution, ensuring that the firm’s advisors have the operational support and flexibility to focus on serving their clients and growing their businesses.
